The Thread is a collection of poetry and prose exploring identity, through memory, creativity, and the seasons of life.

Identity is our most prominent paradigm. It is often the script we turn toward to explain who we are and why. Our experiences, our perceptions, and our choices make up the fabric of identity and yet sometimes it isn’t a flag we wave up high, but rather the shackles that prevent transformation.

The vignettes between these pages are an exploration of self-love and self-loathing, of empowerment and disempowerment, of belonging and displacement. It is within these contrasts that we are truly alive. Through poetry and prose, the interesting texture in our humanness is explored.
